This week, I was lucky enough to speak with VEERUM’s Business Support Manager, Jessica Bertolini to learn more about her favourite part of her role, the VEERUM work culture, and her perspective on continuous learning. Meet Jessica: animal lover, electric guitarist, and wearer of many hats at VEERUM.
What do you do at VEERUM?
I am the Business Support Manager here at VEERUM. I assist the Director of Finance, Legal, HR, and IT so I get to wear many different hats. I have the amazing opportunity to collaborate and connect with every member of the team because my role is so cross-functional. It’s so unique because I’ve learned so many aspects of the business and it never gets boring because no day is ever the same.
What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I really enjoy playing electric guitar and hanging out with my teacup chihuahua.
What is the most exciting aspect of your role?
I truly enjoy onboarding new employees to the VEERUM team. It’s amazing to be the first connection people have with VEERUM. I get to be the first person to share VEERUM’s awesome culture, energy, and enthusiasm. I love getting to know everyone first hand, showing people around the office, and getting them set up for success on their first day, it’s really cool.
What is something you’ve learned while working at VEERUM?
I’ve learned so many different skills. One thing that has really stuck with me is that developing new skills is more about your willingness to learn and adaptability than knowing everything from the get-go. At VEERUM, the team is willing to go above and beyond to help you grow and succeed. I’ve never experienced an environment where everyone gets along so well.
