The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) is responsible for the stability of the production environment but committed to building new features and operating services built atop our distributed computing systems. The day-to-day activities of a Senior Site Reliability Engineer will include:

​

  • Assist cross-functional teams with daily web operation tasks

  • Deployment of code (Terraform, python, bash, ansible, Nodejs, etc.) to numerous operating environments

  • Troubleshoot skill and ability to work with teammates to resolve issues

  • Work on a specific project and meet regular deliverables

  • Test code (pytest, inspec, awspec, kitchentest)

  • Get exposed to many platforms and how to integrate them (AWS, DataDog, BugSnag, etc.)

  • Multi-cloud adoption using CONSUL, NOMAD, VAULT and Terraform

  • Patch management and cis_benchmarks_hardening

  • Monitoring performance of our web-scale hybrid/multi cloud and the impact it has on business outcomes

  • Managing Centralized Log Management (i.e Datadog log,Elasticsearch, etc.)

  • Containerization/Virtualization technology such as Docker, NOMAD or Kubernetes

  • MongoDB and debug slow queries and traces

  • Load balancing tools such as HA-Proxy, Nginx or F5

  • Version Control Systems Git and continuous deployment frameworks

  • Monitoring and metric collection systems

  • Information security best practices and tools

  • Backup/DR strategies and tools

  • AWS architecture including but not limited to EC2, ALB, VPC, transit-gateway, EBS, EFS, KMS, Autoscale groups, VPN site to site and more AWS technologies

  • Being a great teammate

The right candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications on their resume:

​

  • Post-secondary diploma certificate or degree in an IT or a related discipline

  • 3+ years' experience as a production operation or SRE engineer or similar role

  • Be passionate about AWS Well-Architected framework

  • Experience in configuration implementation and maintenance of SaaS platforms

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible

  • Fluent in at least one scripting language (Go, Python, and NodeJS)

  • SOC2, penetration test, compliance tasks, evidence collection, and related experience
