​VEERUM is a Canadian legal entity based in Calgary, Alberta that provides a multi format data storage service called VEERUM 3DVAULT.

 

VEERUM 3DVAULT is a cloud based application designed to provide a solution for the storage, preview, transformation, management, and distribution of 3D reality capture, 2D, 3D, 360° imagery and photos, CAD and BIM models, site data (plots plans, P&IDs, etc.), and other geospatial data.

What personal information we collect 

 

When you subscribe and access VEERUM 3DVAULT, the following categories of personal information are collected from you directly or automatically recorded by VEERUM 3DVAULT:

• Identifiers: first and last name, email address, phone number, company name, job title, IP address

• Electronic network information: application session details (time of log in, duration of session etc), pages visited in VEERUM 3DVAULT, user actions (such as uploading, downloading or deleting data, response times etc), download and other types of errors and system warnings 

• Computer and device information, such as device, application, or browser type and version, browser plug-in type and version, operating system, or time zone setting, the location of your device or computer; authentication and security credential information

• Network metrics such as VEERUM 3DVAULT usage, occurrences of technical errors, diagnostic reports, your settings preferences, backup information, API calls, and other logs

• Any other personal information you voluntarily upload, transfer or input into VEERUM 3DVAULT

 

We do not require any other personal information to provide access to VEERUM 3DVAULT and the associated services to you. If you use the application to upload personal information, it is your responsibility to ensure you comply with all applicable privacy legislation, including obtaining the consent of the individuals whose personal information you are using.

 

Why we collect and how we use the personal information

VEERUM collects the personal information for a number of reasons generally related to your access and use of VEERUM 3DVAULT, its maintenance and improvement, and development of additional products and services. Here is a detailed list of these purposes:

Who we share the personal information with

Service providers

 

We use third parties to perform functions on our behalf. These service providers are based in the United States of America (USA) and other international jurisdictions.

 

The third party will have access to your information as collected by VEERUM 3DVAULT and as reasonably necessary to perform the contracted tasks on our behalf. We ensure contractual agreements are in place to ensure the ongoing confidentiality of your personal data.

 

Legal disclosures

It is possible that we may need to disclose personal information when required by law, subpoena or other legal process as identified in the applicable legislation.

We attempt to notify our clients about legal demands for their personal data when appropriate in our judgment, unless prohibited by law or court order or when the request is an emergency.

 

Change in control

We can also share your personal data as part of a sale, merger or change in control or in preparation for any of these events.

Any other entity which buys us or part of our business will have the right to continue to use your data, but only in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy unless you agree otherwise.

 

How we secure the personal information

 

We are committed to protecting the security of all of the personal information we collect and use. 

 

We use a variety of physical, administrative and technical safeguards designed to help protect it from unauthorized access, use and disclosure. We have implemented best practice standards and run internal self assessments on the security posture. We use encryption technologies to protect data at rest and in transit.

Your rights
 

The VEERUM 3DVAULT application is available internationally. Specific privacy regulatory regimes may grant specific rights to individuals but generally, these rights allow the following:

• Access to your personal information or receipt of a copy:
  You have the right to obtain information about what personal information we process about you or to obtain a copy of your personal information

• Change or correction of your personal information:
  You have the right to update/correct your personal information or ask us to do it on your behalf. 

• Deletion of your personal information:
  You have the right to request deletion of your personal information at any time. We will communicate back to you within reasonable timelines the result of your request. A deletion request will be forwarded to the organization that contracted our services. We may not be able to delete or erase your personal information if so directed by the contracting organization but we will inform you of the reasons and any further actions available to you

When you consent to our processing of your personal information for a specified purpose, you may withdraw your consent at any time, and we will stop any further processing of your data for that purpose.

 

Complaints
 

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the privacy regulators in charge of enforcing the privacy legislation applicable in your territory.

How long we keep your personal information
 

If you decide to terminate your agreement and close your VEERUM 3DVAULT account, VEERUM will retain your content for a period of up to 90 days after account closure, during which you may download or request the download of any of the data stored in the account. During this period, you may also decide to reopen your account. At the end of this period, we will permanently and irretrievably delete any data remaining in your account.

We may retain your personal information, outside the VEERUM 3DVAULT account, for the duration of applicable legal obligations, such as retention of system logs or issued invoices for tax and accounting compliance or for other purposes such as preventing fraud, collecting debts, resolving disputes, assisting with investigations or to enforce our Terms of Service Agreement and take other actions permitted by law.

VEERUM processes the personal information or personal data collected by VEERUM 3DVAULT as described in this Privacy Policy. Refer to the section What personal information we collect for a list of categories of personal information collected and description of how the information is treated. 

 

VEERUM acts as controller of the personal information when the use and access to the VEERUM 3DVAULT is contracted by an individual based in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom (UK).

 

We process your personal information on one or more of the following legal basis:

• To enter into a contract with you or the legal entity you represent, to provide access and use of VEERUM 3DVAULT, to respond to requests from you, or to provide customer support

• To pursue our legitimate interests that include using the personal information for marketing purposes, to improve the functionality of VEERUM 3DVAULT and to develop new products and services

• To comply with relevant law and legal obligations, including to respond to requests and orders from any country’s government or other official authorities

• With your consent

 

VEERUM acts as a processor when the use and access to the VEERUM 3DVAULT is contracted by a legal entity processing personal information of individuals from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or UK. VEERUM will process the personal information as directed by the contracting entity.

Storage location

​

VEERUM 3DVAULT resides in AWS data centers localized in the USA. We process personal data in Canada and USA,  and share the information with our service providers also located in Canada, USA,  and other jurisdictions. We use standard contractual clauses as the data transfer mechanism of transferring European Union (EU) data to countries subject to data transfer requirements.
